Resident Shapers
Born in 1947 in Palo Alto California, started surfing in 1957 and shaped first board in 1966. Shaping influences include Dick Brewer and the late John Bradbury. An experienced surfer/craftsman, he has spent plenty of time in both the shaping room and the green room. Never really a factory/production slave, he considers himself a true custom shaper. He has seen the board trends come, go, return and evolve. He shapes them all upon request - traditional and modern longboards, twins, tris, quads, fish, guns and hybrids
Ward is widely traveled. After attending UCSB, the one time Hollister Ranch guard and employee relocated to South Africa in 1972 and lived there until 1987. He has surfed throughout Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Versatile and communicative, he would be glad to translate your ideas into a new custom board designed to your specifications.
